A Collar is emblematic of achieving something very special in a D/s relationship, essentially the equivalent of a marriage. The act of Collaring is a sign of intense and sober commitment. It is not given to the first person that comes along, but is something to be saved for that special one who earns it only after a long and challenging period of acquaintance, courtship, and training.
